Coffee Body Scrub

In our city where the winters are brutal and long and summers are beautiful but short-lived, Manitobans enjoys the nice and cozy sun-filled days by spending time outdoors. What does this mean?

In our house, we like to rise up super early and pack our cooler, coffee, towels, and beach bag, and head over to the quietness of the beach within the morning while the sand remains being raked. We walk around to feel the sand between our toes and luxuriate in breakfast on the beach while the seagulls eyeball our food. This often becomes an entire day adventure [especially when camping!] while we soak within the vitamin D with music, crossword puzzles, friends, and snacks.

To prepare for beach days, i really like to use a body scrub for glowing skin and a good tan.

Ingredients

  1. Coffee grounds are wonderful for exfoliating. They remove dry and dead skin cells, tighten skin and reduce cellulite. Coffee ‘wakes up the skin’ when applied, a bit like it wakes you up after drinking it “Oh morning beautiful πŸ™‚“ What? Your coffee doesn’t blarney you? The caffeine stimulates circulation and improves blood flow, leading to glowing skin.
  2. Carrier oils like almond oil, olive oil, apricot kernel oil, grapeseed oil, hemp seed oil, sunflower-seed oil , jojoba oil, copra oil , or your personal favourite! search for an honest quality carrier oil that's organic, virgin, unrefined, and cold-pressed. These are natural oils which are easily absorbed into the skin to hydrate and moisturize.
  3. Brown sugar makes an excellent addition to the present scrub because it's a mild exfoliator. it's an honest option for those that have sensitive skin [always me] because sugar particles are smaller and not as coarse as salt or white sugar. glycollic acid (an alpha hydroxy acid) is found in sugar and helps to exfoliate and take away dead skin cells from the highest layer of skin, unveiling fresh healthy skin. it's also a natural humectant, which suggests it draws moisture to the skin.

How to Make and Use Coffee Body Scrub

[This recipe is for a one/two time use – if you'd wish to make more, it'll keep for a couple of weeks during a sealed container.]

  1. Start by putting 2 tablespoons of dregs during a small bowl or into a resealable container.
  2. Add 2 tablespoons of sugar and a couple of tablespoons of carrier oil. I did 1 tablespoon copra oil and 1 tablespoon jojoba oil.
  3. Mix with a fork/spoon and check out to resist the urge of tasting because it'll smell heavenly immediately .
  4. Bring the bowl or container into the shower with you to use . [Do not convince yourself it'll not be that messy and still be cleaning up dregs fortnight later.] Use near end of shower (just before shaving but after body wash) therefore the carrier oils aren't completely washed away.
  5. Put alittle amount of scrub in your hand and apply gently in circular motions to your body. Scrubbing too hard or too often can do more harm than good. It can make skin dry out or cause small tears. When finished with the scrub, rinse and continue with regular shower routine. you'll got to rinse the bathtub or shower afterwards to clear any leftover dregs and oil.

Happy Exfoliating πŸ™‚
