A few weeks ago, I visited a stunning lunch hosted by the Institute of Integrative Nutrition, a health coach educational program . We learned about the program from former students who are now successful health coaches and enjoyed a healthy meal. once they graciously offered that we attend a health coaching session to find out more about it, I immediately said yes. it had been perfectly timed with my monthly challenge to Always Be Learning. I met with Lily Kunin, an Institute for Integrative Nutrition Certified Health Coach and founding father of the web site Clean Food Dirty City. We talked through my diet and exercise plan also as my goals. Lily followed up together with her favorite wellness resources and diet suggestions. This month I’ve been eating gluten-free and eliminated soy from my diet. I even have such a lot more energy and my skin is such a lot clearer. I’ve also worked on adding more meditation, relaxation, and cardio into my daily routine. excellent news if you’re brooding about seeing a health coach: The Institute of Integrative Nutrition is petitioning to possess health coaching be covered similarly to other sorts of health-related appointments.
WELLNESS TIPS AND RESOURCES
Here are a couple of of my top takeaways from meeting with Lily:o It takes 21 days for something to be eliminated from your system. If you're eliminating something (like soy or gluten) wait 21 days to ascertain the impact. once you do any quite elimination diet, write down how you are feeling along the way.
o Start a day with filtered water and lemon.
o Work towards one hour of relaxation each day .
o Go to bed before 11 pm. Your cortisol levels increase after 11 pm making you more stressed…and less sleepy.
o Make sure you're drinking many water throughout the day – add lemon and a couple of pinches of Himalayan salt.
o Sometimes you would like to urge the additional hour of sleep. Don’t stress an excessive amount of if you don’t make it to the gym within the morning.
o Get 7-8 hours of sleep per night.
o Set an alarm on your phone so you remember to travel to bed on time!
